Sezione di Pisa

This website is dedicated to the visualization of anaglyph or shaded relief images obtained from the TINITALY/01 digital elevation model (DEM) covering the whole Italian territory. Users wearing specific glasses, can browse the anaglyph-mode (i.e. stereo) views of the DEM to see the model in 3D.

The site hosts a database of zenithal and perspective views of portions of the Italian territory in two formats. The TINTALY/01 DEM was the final result of the DIGITALIA project supported by the Italian Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio in the framework of a general agreement involving the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Sezione di Pisa. The TINTALY/01 DEM was formerly presented by Tarquini et al. (2007).

The website is addressed to specialized users which are familiar with environmental and GIS analysis, but anyone interested in anaglyph-mode visualization of the Italian landscape can explore the database.
